pacific sculptures / ~ fountain

Stefan Riebel, 2006

This work deals with sculpture, performance and painting and it is meant as a try to combine the chronology of time as well as a physical necessity in one act of sculpture. Central questions that are brought up are what art, sculpture, borders between sculpture and performance or rather art and every - day - live as well as daily art and its presentation could be and should look like. This work interprets art as necessity and playful acquaintance with coincidence and an ongoing pocess that is apart from own certain author. The material of the sculpture is the own body which forms it, time that lets the sculpture appear for just about a minute and then again vanish and there is the idea of a global water as a connecting thing inbetween all things that forces the sculpture to become and to pass on.
